2009 July 4th trip - Mendocino & Lake County
Over the July 4th three day weekend, we went to Mendocino and Lake County for a bit of California Coast and inland wine.
We covered a nice variety of California terrain, from Coastal cliffs to Redwoods (and I can now highly recommend the Van Damme State Park) as a place to see redwoods and California meadows.
The real find were the Alexander Valley wineries.
Some of the ones that we really enjoyed were:

06 rsv Chard - very mellow, creamy, peppery fishtail skirt
06 Uber Tuscan - chewy, heirloom tomatoes
06 Quadriga - meaty!
