We were on the road by 7:00 and it immediately became 8:00 because we crossed a time zone. Grumble, grumble.

In, Saskatchewan the plains gave way to wonderful forests full of fall color. 

And on this day we decided, the heck with Niagra Falls. We wanted to meander more. 

As we turned South, we drove by the Lake of the Woods, big lake, lots of islands. There were small markers made from rocks along the road in the Indian tradition. The coolest are the ones that look like people. They are meant to guide travelers along good paths.

To top it all off, we saw a bald eagle, fly over the forest.

And then the border, for a bewildering moment we weren’t sure if we were at the border or an industrial park. Nope, border and after some questions and a search of our car, we were home.
