Shaun of the Dead

Description: A quiet little comedy of manners movie about people drinking tea and eating crumpets and speaking in English accents. No wait. Make that a hilarious little zombie movie about the undead eating people and the few remaining living drinking beer. The English accents part is true though.

For those who are familiar with the genre, there were quite a few little jokes from other movies over the years. But really, what’s there to know before hand. The dead walk. Sometimes being trapped in a dead end job can feel like being undead. The soullessness of sitting on the bus with all the other low end job zombies. Getting up to go to work every day. Doing the same thing in mindless repetition. Going to the same places with the same people every week because you just don’t know what to do with your life.

Okay, that’s not my life now, but hey, I’ve worked retail for minimum wage.

By turns hilarious, horrific, tense, and poignant this is a great addition to the whole zombie oeuvre. If you know, I didn’t feel incredibly silly referring to the zombie oeuvre.

The dead walk. The living watch the walking dead on daytime t.v. Good times.
